MacOS - Clean restart

If you are having problems with your Mac - especially things like sluggish performance, copy and pasting issues - try a restart that ensures all your current processes and programs are closed properly.
  1. Save your work
  2. Click on the Apple icon in the top left hand corner
  3. Choose Restart from the Apple Menu
  4. Uncheck the box near “Reopen windows when logging back in
  5. Click on Restart
You can also permanently disable this option:
  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left hand corner
  2. Choose System Preferences
  3. Click and Open General
  4. From General, Check “Close windows when quitting an app
